M. Jacob Renick, CPA, CIRA, CFE - Dir. Restructuring & Bankruptcy Services
Jake is the Director of Restructuring & Bankruptcy Services at EZKR, LLP. He has worked extensively in the restructuring of financially distressed entities, both in and out of bankruptcy, as well as with chapter 7 and 11 trustees, debtors and creditor committees and has been appointed as an Examiner and as a Trustee by the bankruptcy courts.
As a forensic accountant, Jake has been retained in cases ranging from the defense of a lender liability action to actions against officers and directors and has been retained to reconstruct books and records and perform due diligence for investor groups.
Jake is very active in professional organizations and their committees and serves as the current Chair of the Bankruptcy & Corporate Reorganization Committee of the NYSSCPAs. His articles have appeared in business and professional publications and he served as editor of the NYSSCPA's Bankruptcy and Insolvency Forum on the Internet. He has chaired and been a speaker at numerous conferences and seminars on a variety of bankruptcy and forensic issues for professional and business groups.
Jake serves as a pro-bono instructor with The Coalition for Consumer Bankruptcy Education, where he teaches financial management to consumer debtors. He is a trained mediator and arbitrator. He is a former assistant professor of accounting and finance at the Lubin School of Business of Pace University and served on the faculty at the New York Institute of Finance.
