Eric P. Lerner, CPA - Partner
Mr. Lerner has a broad background in forensic and litigation services. Eric began his career at Eisner & Lubin in 1979, where he became a partner. He was a partner at Raich Ende Malter Lerner & Co. from 1987 until 2000, a partner at Perelson Weiner LLP, until 2004, a Shareholder/Director and Attest Practice Leader of Accounting and Auditing at Mayer Hoffman McCann/CBIZ until 2007 and a director at McGladrey & Pullen LLP/RSM McGladrey until 2009 when he joined EZKR as a partner in the Litigation Support Services Group.
Eric's forensic / litigation / transactional background includes expert witness testimony, review of application of generally accepted accounting principles, forensic and fraud investigations, calculation of damages, lost profits analysis, purchase accounting strategies, accounting arbitrator for final purchase price and related working capital adjustments, reconstruction of document records, fraudulent conveyances, malpractice defense, dispute resolution, review and allocation of insurance coverages.
Eric's extensive attest and consultative related experience includes maritime and transportation, leasing, hotels and real estate, multi-employer plans, apparel, large universities and educational enterprises, software providers, MWD (manufacturers, wholesalers & distributors), service, professional firms, non-profit, import/export, renewable power companies, and communications.
He has also contributed to significant changes to certain Internal Revenue Service cross border regulations and drafted position papers to the Financial Standards Accounting Board in an effort to amend certain literature.
Eric's professional affiliations include the New York State Society of CPA's, where he is currently a member of the Litigation Services committee and a former member of SEC and International Tax committees, charter membership in the International Institute of Certified Public Accountants, membership in the American Institute of Certified Accountants and the New Jersey State Society of CPA's. He has been a board member of several non-profit entities and an instructor at the Practicing Law Institute.
